Upgraded Alert System

posted Jan 19, 2018, 12:06 PM by Kelly Johnston   [ updated Jan 19, 2018, 12:09 PM ]

Recently Scarborough Schools upgraded their notification system (emails and phone calls) in Power School.  Unfortunately, when the conversion was made from the prior version to the new version, there was a slight glitch in the program and this affected some families on Wednesday morning.  The new version of the alert system did not convert any phone numbers with area codes other than 207 - therefore, any families with out of state area codes did not receive the call.  Our team has worked diligently and corrected the error and all phone numbers have been reinstated as they were originally.  Even though some families did not receive a phone call, t
he new system did make 4516 successful calls in 8 minutes and 16 seconds on Wednesday morning and we are very pleased with the upgrade!

Please keep in mind - for any school closure/late start announcements, we also update our local TV channels - 6, 8 and 13 - as well as Face Book, Twitter and our website.  We are very sorry for any of those families who were inconvenienced on Wednesday morning.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call Central Office at (207) 730-4100.
