Facilities
Our Facilities and Maintenance Department staff manage and maintain six buildings, totaling nearly 700,00 square feet of building space.
School Facilities Reservations
Facilities reservation requests for all indoor school spaces may be requested through Scarborough Public Schools. If you wish to request any outdoor space within the town of Scarborough or a space in Scarborough Town Hall, please click here to visit the Scarborough Community Services website.
Scarborough Public Schools is pleased to provide the public with the opportunity to request the use of a school building indoor space using our new reservation system. Any organization or individual requesting the use of a school facility must first read and understand school policy related to the use of school facilities. School Policy information may be accessed via the links below:
Please follow these directions to get started with the Facilities Scheduler reservation system.
Enter the Facilities Scheduler Site
View the public calendar and check for available space
Please note that although the Facilities Scheduler asks for requesters' sales tax status, we do not charge sales tax on any school rentals.
Reservation requests may not be entered in the Scheduler prior to August 1 of each school year; early requests will be denied. Public rental requests will be processed after school and Community Services activities have been scheduled.
Testing for Lead in School Drinking Water
In accordance with a new Maine law, L.D. 153 (An Act to Strengthen Testing for Lead in School Drinking Water), we are now required to test all water faucets throughout the Scarborough Schools that could be used for drinking or cooking purposes. Samples are sent to a laboratory contracted by the State, and tested for the presence of lead. Sample results must be posted to inform the school community.
As of May 13, 2022, sampling has been completed at the High School, Wentworth, and the three primary schools. Prior to the start of sample collection at the Middle School, the state suspended their collection program and asked us to wait to submit those samples until the fall of 2022.
As testing is completed and results are received, the information will be posted here for review:
