Testing for Lead in School Drinking Water

In accordance with a new Maine law, L.D. 153 (An Act to Strengthen Testing for Lead in School Drinking Water), we are now required to test all water faucets throughout the Scarborough Schools that could be used for drinking or cooking purposes.  Samples are sent to a laboratory contracted by the State, and tested for the presence of lead.  Sample results must be posted to inform the school community.

As of May 13, 2022, sampling has been completed at the High School, Wentworth, and the three primary schools.  Prior to the start of sample collection at the Middle School, the state suspended their collection program and asked us to wait to submit those samples until the fall of 2022.

The High School test results have been received and documentation is available here for your review (information on the other schools will also be posted here as it is provided to us):
