Health Services

The health staff is working diligently to help provide a safe and healthy environment for your children. You can help by remembering a few basic guidelines:

1. Hand washing is the single most effective way to prevent the spread of infection. Students and staff are encouraged to wash hands frequently at school.
2. Students who are exhibiting signs or symptoms of illness will be sent home, in accordance with CDC guidelines.
    
3. Fever, vomiting, and diarrhea may pose a contagious health problem for others. Please do not send your child to school if he/she is experiencing any of these symptoms.
    
4.  Students are not allowed to remain in school with blood/body fluids on their clothes. Sending an extra set of clothes is always a great idea to prevent your child from missing valuable class time.
    
5. Please remember that students may not transport, carry, or self-administer prescription or non-prescription medication except for rescue inhalers and Epinephrine. 
    
6. The health clinics stock Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen which may be administered as needed with annual written parental permission.
    
7. If your child needs prescription medication while at school, please contact a member of the Health Services Staff.

• Temperature of 100.4 F or higher
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Injury that may require further medical attention
• Chronic medical conditions that may require further evaluation
• When there is a question of communicable disease or suspicion of infection (e.g. chickenpox, conjunctivitis)
• With certain rashes
• Any condition or symptom for which a member of the Health Services Staff deems it necessary (CDC guidelines will be followed)
