The K-8 Strategic Project & New Primary School project is a holistic strategic solution for our K-8 schools to solve facilities inadequacies and inefficiencies by reorganizing grade levels, aligning our student populations, and building a new consolidated primary school that addresses educational equity, operational efficiency, population growth, flexibility, safety & security, and 21st century learning and teaching methods.
We have already exceeded the capacity of our existing schools. Our infrastructure does not support our student's basic educational needs. We need a sustainable solution to house our current and growing population.
We need a solution to support today's kids and plan for continued housing starts. The planning and construction process will take approximately five years.

Strategically coordinate and align the project with other community initiatives and the town comprehensive plan.
The Building Committee advises and make recommendations to the Board of Education in an effort to address overcrowding and inadequate space at the primary (K-2) level of Scarborough Schools. The Committee is authorized to recommend, create and supervise various subcommittees.
